Food System Resilience Project

A Government of Kenya Project focusing on ensuring food security and building resilience. It will complement and build on other interventions by the World Bank that support the government’s current Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA):
Implemented under the State Department for Crops Development and Agricultural Research (SDC&AR ), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD).

Project Development Objective:

The project development objective (PDO) of the Kenya FSRP is to increase preparedness for food insecurity and improve the resilience of food systems in targeted project areas of Kenya.

In order to realize this objective, project activities will be implemented through five components namely

(i) (Re-) Building Resilient Agricultural Production Capacity;

(ii) Supporting the Sustainable Development of Natural Resources for Resilient Agricultural Landscapes;

(iii) Regional and domestic markets for food security;

(iv) Promoting a Greater Focus on Food Systems Resilience in National and Regional Policy making;

(v) Contingency Emergency Response

(vi) Project Coordination and Management.
